2023 Bilingual Summer Writing Competition
Writing Summer Campaign: Stories of Faith, Culture, and Cameroon
Submission Guidelines:
Eligibility:
- Participants must be Christians residing in Cameroon.
- Participants must be aged between 16 and 30 years. (Due to extensive feedback, we now accept entries from all age groups).
- Each participant can submit one short story only.
Theme:
- Your short story should reflect elements of faith, culture, and life in Cameroon.
- Emphasize the unity, diversity, and beauty of our nation.
- We encourage narratives that demonstrate the positive influence of Christian beliefs in everyday life.
Word Count:
- Your short story should be maximum of 1500 words long.
Format:
- Submit your story via email as a Microsoft Word attachment to [email protected].
- Please use Times New Roman or Arial font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
- Include a captivating title for your story at the beginning of the document.
Submission:
- In the email subject line, write: “Submission: Short Story – [Your Story Title].”
- Include your full name, age, contact number, and a brief introduction in the email body.
Deadline:
- The deadline for submissions is September 15 2023.
- Late submissions will not be considered.
Prizes:
- The three best stories will be awarded cash prizes:
- First place: XAF 100,000.
- Second place: XAF 75,000.
- Third place: XAF 50,000.
- Additionally, the top 10 stories will be published in our exclusive Short Story Series Magazine.
Selection Process:
- A panel of esteemed judges will review all submissions anonymously.
- Stories will be evaluated based on creativity, adherence to the theme, writing style, and overall impact.
